Pavle Kilibarda holds a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva, an LLM from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, and a BA in International Relations from the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Belgrade. He is currently engaged with Counter-Terror Pro Legem as a Postdoctoral Researcher.
Before joining the project team, Pavle worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Geneva and the Geneva Academy, a Legal Training Associate at the International Committee of the Red Cross, and a Researcher at the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights. He has also taught several courses for Boston University’s Geneva programme.
Pavle’s research focuses on matters of public international law, international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international refugee law, and the international counterterrorism framework. He has engaged in diverse fields, notably including the prohibition of torture and other forms of ill-treatment, the problem of overclassification of situations of armed conflict, the status of refugees in transit, and the recognition of States, which was also the subject of his doctoral dissertation. The latter was defended in 2022 and awarded the grade summa cum laude.
